The stirrups repel my boots. How can I solve this?

Jessica Marin Updated by Jessica Marin

If your stirrups repel your boots rather than attract them, please swap the left and right stirrups. The left and right stirrups are not interchangeable.

Your boots should attract to the center of the stirrups, not to the outside. Otherwise, the left stirrup is almost certainly on the right side, and the right one on the left side.

This is how you'll notice that they are attached wrongly:
-
Your boots will attracted to the stirrups, but on the very inside and very outside of the tread.
- Trying to attach the boots to the middle of the stirrup tread will not work. It will repel.

How to make sure they are attached correctly

There are several ways to do so:

  • Each stirrup has a small sign below indicating LEFT and RIGHT.
  • Each stirrups has a small sign (L or R) on top of the tread.
  • The ophena logotype must face in the direction of movement (toward your toes, not toward the heel)

You can read about that in the owners guide, which was included in the packaging and is also available online here.
